In Perdigões, large collective projects were carried out to open ditches that enclosed specific areas. The opening of Ditch 7, 3 meters deep and 4 meters wide, enclosed the central space where a circular wooden ceremonial structure was located.

In the centre of Perdigões, funerary rituals were performed, where human cremated remains transported in large containers were deposited in pits . The containers were then broken and also deposited in the ditches as part of the ritual.

As a ceremonial centre, people from peripheral territories and further away came to Perdigões. They participated in ceremonies, in the opening of ditches or in the construction of tombs, activities that assumed an aggregating role in a supportive and retributive social organization.
